How to give agency access to Zapier

Last updated · roles checked against Zapier help

The short answer

Ask to be invited as a Member to the client's Zapier Team or Enterprise account, then have them share each app connection you need. Joining the account doesn't give you their connections: Members only see connections shared with them. The client invites you from Members → Add Members and shares connections from Apps → (app) → Share.

What to ask for

Ask for
Member on the client's Team or Enterprise account, plus shared app connections User access
Client needs
Owner, Admin or Super Admin on a Zapier Team or Enterprise account.

Ask for Member on the client's Team or Enterprise account, plus shared app connections and nothing broader. The smallest role that does the job is easier for the client to approve, easier to audit later, and simpler to remove when the work ends. If the scope of work grows, ask again for the larger role rather than requesting it up front.

What breaks if the role is wrong

  • GotchaTeam accounts have a 25-member limit and up to 25 pending invites. Enterprise accounts have unlimited members.
  • GotchaTeam membership alone doesn't share app connections; each one has to be shared.
  • GotchaThe agency must accept with the exact email that was invited.
  • GotchaAnyone a connection is shared with can build and edit Zaps using it. Consider sharing a separate, limited app account.
  • GotchaSuper Admin exists only on Enterprise. Admin can remove members and manage app access, so it's more than most agency work needs.
  • GotchaPersonal (non-Team) plans have no multi-user access.
